No clocks and no rushing. Here's where we're going, in roughly this order. Tick each one off as we go.
WA Café, Marylebone. A Japanese-style café to start the day.
A Japanese garden hidden inside Holland Park.
Japanese food hall, ube ice cream, then Bath & Body Works.
Our favourite, on James Street.
Feet up, together.
We'll start the day slowly, just a short walk from the station on Marylebone High Street.
WA is a Japanese-style café known for smooth flat whites and delicate little cakes, like their sesame cake. We can sit in or take something with us for the journey. Pick whatever looks the prettiest.
Tucked inside Holland Park is one of London's prettiest secret spots, and it's made for autumn.
There's a tiered waterfall, a pond full of koi, stone lanterns and Japanese maples that are just starting to turn. Peacocks wander freely around the park, so keep your eyes open. Take as long as you like here. It's the best place of the day for photos.
One stop from Holland Park is Westfield London, where the afternoon is all yours.
A huge Japanese food hall with noodle stations, open kitchens where you can watch the chefs, and a sake bar. Let's wander round and pick whatever we fancy.
Map →The TikTok-famous purple ube ice cream, served in a soft Filipino bread roll. Sweet, a bit nutty and very photogenic.
Map →You've wanted to come here for ages, and you've already got a list. Today we're finally ticking it off. No rushing, so take all the time you need.
Map →Back to our favourite on James Street to end the day.
You know the drill: katsu, cheese, and whatever spice level you're feeling brave enough for. Then it's a short walk to the train and home.
Back home to put our feet up, light one of your new candles and spend a cosy evening together. No plans, no rushing, just us.
